Week 3

Time to start building some links.

At this stage, your site should be live and have at least 3 review posts on it.

If it is, well done!

What we need to start doing in this 3rd week is to begin to build some authority. We do this by creating backlinks to the site from social websites and Web 2.0 websites.

The reason for this is because we want to start getting some domain authority to our main homepage, which will in turn help to boost all the inner pages on the site.

So we are only building links to our main homepage this week, not to any of our review posts yet.

Upcoming Training

New training will appear here weekly. So be sure to sign up to the update list at the top of the members home page and we'll email you the moment it is live.

Anchor Text

Before we build any links, it's important to understand anchor text. We want to establish a brand for our site and that is our domain name. In my case, my brand is Kitchen Reviews HQ because my domain name is kitchenreviewshq.com. So the links I want to send to the main homepage just need to be my brand. I will use a mixture of:

https://kitchenreviewshq.com
kitchenreviewshq.com
kitchen reviews hq
Kitchen Reviews HQ

and some broad terms such as:

kitchen gadget reviews
kitchen products
reviews of kitchen equipment

Social Sites

Most social sites will only let you add your full website URL (https://kitchenreviewshq.com) which is fine. We will use the other variations in our Web 2.0 sites.

Let's get started with the social links. Whilst most of these will be 'no-follow' links (which means Google is supposed to discount them completely) they DO still pass authority and it's the natural thing a new website will do is to set up social accounts for it.

Facebook

- Firstly, create a FaceBook Page and add your website URL so it appears on the side of the page.

Step #1 - Sign in/up to Facebook and visit - https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/

Then click on the 'Brand or product' box.

Then choose 'Website' from the drop down options and enter in your website/brand name.

Your page will then be created. So we now need to add our website URL, so that it appears in the sidebar of the page. Hover over the 'More' box and choose 'Edit Page Info'.

In the 'Website' section, enter in your website URL and click 'Save Changes'.

Your page is now ready.

Feel free to add a profile picture, cover photo and make a post or two. But that's all you need to do with Facebook now.

Here's the example site's Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/kitchenreviewshq/

Twitter

Twitter is quite straight forward, just create an account and again, add your website URL into your profile so it shows on your Twitter page - https://twitter.com/kitchenreviewhq

Here's the example site's Twitter page for your reference - https://twitter.com/kitchenreviewhq

Other Social Sites

Create accounts on other social platforms you like and add your website URL onto them. These can include Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, YouTube, Reddit, Flickr to name but a few. Here's a list of some popular ones if you need them - http://www.practicalecommerce.com/articles/86264-91-Leading-Social-Networks-Worldwide

You want to create around 10-30 of these links this week. You can do them manually or use someone one Fiverr to set them up for you. Here's a useful gig that will create the accounts and even put your website link on them - https://www.fiverr.com/lancers/onlywire-accounts-creation-free-version(Don't worry about the mention of 'Onlywire' as you won't be using that. Just use the gig for creating the social accounts.)

Web 2.0 Sites

Next step is to get some web 2.0 links. These links will typically be placed within 300+ word minimum niche related articles that if possible also have images, videos and 2-3 links out to other related authority sites.

Some Web 2.0 sites that can be used include Tumblr, WordPress.com, Wix, Blogger, Weebly and any other site that allows you to embed an article where you can place links inside. Moz has a good list of sites if you cannot find any - https://moz.com/community/q/high-pr-web-2-0-sites

You ideally want to create between 2-5 Web 2.0 links this week.

Here's an example of one of our Web 2.0 sites for our kitchen site - https://kitchentipshq.wordpress.com/

Add More Review Posts To Your Site

At the end of last week, I suggested you should get at least another 3 review posts written. If you have done that, then you should now add them to your site. You don't have to space them out, just add them one after the other.

During this next week, try and get another 3+ review posts created.

Example Site Status

More reviews have been added to the site and it is now indexed in Google.

We have also created social and web 2.0 accounts and linked from them to the site.

Your Tasks For This Third Week

Here are the tasks you should try and get done this week:

- Create 10-30 social links to your site

- Create 2-5 Web 2.0 links to your site

- Post 3+ more reviews on your site

- Order or write at least 3 more review posts

Next week we move into other forms of backlinks such as blog comments, forum links and Private Blog Networks (PBN's). I'll show you how to get these and how to set everything up to avoid footprints in Google.

We'll also look into other types of articles we can add to the site, to boost our authority in the niche, get more traffic and look more natural to Google.

I'll send out an email when Week 4 training is added, so be sure to sign up to the update list at the top of the main membership page.
